A worker on a lift was killed outside a building in Westchester after being electrocuted when his cherry picker struck power lines, police said.

The man, who was working at 164 Union Avenue in New Rochelle, was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 12 after what is being investigated as possible electrocution, Captain Cosmo Costa, commanding officer of the New Rochelle PD said.

The man was first announced as unconscious around 2:30 p.m. and later pronounced dead approximately 45 minutes later.

It is unclear how the worker hit the high-voltage lines. His identity has not been released as the investigation into the incident continues.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) is also investigating the fatal incident, which left more than 900 area residents without power.

Complete restoration is expected by 5 p.m., according to Con Edison.
